Babe Ruth as a role model
I respect Babe Ruth in so many ways. Having come from an awful background, he changed his life and made it for the better. After having been sent to an all boys school for being troubled, he came out a better man. Instead of hating everything and being extremely pessimistic, Babe became a better person. He tried harder in sports and school and slowly diminished his title of "troublemaker". As he continued his journey of life, he helped the US population believe once again. Babe played every baseball game like it was his last game and tried his hardest during every single one. For that, I completely respect him. Also, he would help out with younger boys who dreamed of being baseball players. He went as far as to try to get every boy play baseball. Obviously unsuccessful, he still had a dream to show the younger kids of America what it's like to have faith in something. Lastly, Babe was the rain brought to America during its drought. In other words, he brought happiness when everyone was gloomy. With the war overseas, people became less optimistic and they doubted a lot. Babe however, showed people that it doesn't hurt to be optimistic sometimes. For that, I admire Babe Ruth. Not as a baseball player but as a person.
